What We Believe

one LORD | one FAITH | one BAPTISM

WE BELIEVE in one God - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

WE BELIEVE that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

WE BELIEVE that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

WE BELIEVE that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified, regenerated, and saved from the dominion of sin.

WE BELIEVE that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

WE BELIEVE that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgement will take place.

Our Story

The holiness movement began through the preaching of John Wesley and others in the 1700’s. Then in 1908 Pilot Point, Texas many churches from around the country came together to form a denomination called “ The Church of the Nazarene.” The early beginnings was a call that God didn’t just pay the price for humanity’s sin, but was restoring the imago dei (image of God); that His plan was to make us new and help us become who we were always meant to be (holy) as we learn to walk in obedience to Him.

In the summer of 1915 is where our story comes in. 1915 was the year our church was organized at Cherry Grove with Rev. Charles Hanks. It was then decided to build a church at 9457 S 29 Rd. Land was donated and several additions were made throughout the years.

Property then came up for sale on M55. Under the leadership of Rev. Hoose, his son Tom, and Jim Nixon’s supervision, the new building was constructed. Again as with all the other building projects, many hours of volunteer labor and much sacrificial giving has gone into this building. The new church was dedicated on July 12th, 2009.

Today you will notice a growing congregation that is creating a community where families can grow, be discipled, serve alongisde others and hear God’s word.
